2015 DBCF Volunteer Year In Review

Each year, Driven Brands, Inc. employees take part in various local volunteer activities representing the Driven Brands Charitable Foundation.  2015 was a busy year for corporate employees, volunteering with the following charitable organizations:

 

  • Habitat for Humanity –  Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.  Habit provides shelter and housing assistance to help families recover from hard times.  Volunteers from Driven Brands, Inc. teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to help install sheet rock in two different Charlotte neighborhood house projects.   • Levine Children’s Hospital Annual Telethon: “Give Here for Kids Here” – Volunteers answered phones and received pledges during a live telethon event.  The day was a huge success with over $100,000 raised for Levine Children’s Hospital!
  • Halloween Happenings at Levine Children’s Hospital – Each fall, Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC holds it’s annual “Halloween Happenings” fall festival allowing patients and their families to have the Halloween experience while receiving treatment at the hospital. Volunteers helped the children with Halloween theme crafts and games and everyone had ful showing off their creative costumes.  
  • Snug Hugs for Kids – Snug Hugs for Kids began 25 years ago as a simple program to collect winter clothing in Merlin Shops and has evolved into a program with many other facets.  Merlin is proud and honored to help and many Merlin shops have particularly embraced the opportunity to further assist Children’s Home+Aid with the Warm Hands and Hears fundraising campaign by buliding awareness and asking customers for $1 to write their name on a little red mitten to hang in their shops.  It’s projects like this that prompt Merlin shops and their corporate team to assist in any way they can, large or small.  Merlin has been associated with Children’s Home + Aid since the establishment of Snug Hugs for Kids and has witnessed the much needed child and family services they provide and the difference they have made in the life of children throught out the state.  For more details on the program, visit http://www.merlins.com/snughugs/

Friendship Trays – Every few months, Driven Brands corporate employees volunteer at this local charity.  Friendship Trays’ works to deliver balanced meals to individuals in the community who are unable to obtain or prepare their own mailes because of age or infirmity.  Employee volunteers help to pack these meals to then be delived to those in need.  Learn more about Friendship Trays by visiting http://friendshiptrays.org/
